10/31/06 - Update from Janis:
On October 4th I went into the hospital for surgery to remove a huge polyp from my colon. 18" of the colon and lymph nodes were removed. Thank God it was benign. I was hospitalized 5 days and since then I have been recuperating here at home. I want to thank each one of you for the messages of concern on the web, for the cards, calls, and all other acts of kindness. Most of all thank you for your prayers, they brought me through again. I went to my doctor yesterday and he said I could go on the road again if I was able. If you really know me, I am ready. Also, I would like to thank my son Lewis for doing my part on the stage.

Janis Lewis Phillips10/4/06 - Janis came through her surgery well. It took about 2 hours, and the doctor and pathologist felt that there was no cancer. They expect her to be in the hospital 4-6 days depending on how well she does. Earl is staying with her, and Lewis will be filling in for her on the road. Thank you for all your notes and prayers, and please continue to pray for Janis during her recovery.
9/20/06 - A Note From Janis:
I'm having surgery again and I'm in desperate need of your prayers. This time it's colon surgery. The right side of my colon will be removed. The tentative date is scheduled for Oct. 4 at 9:00 A.M.
If all goes well, I'll be back on the road in a few weeks.
Please pray for me as you have before.

Janis Lewis Phillips is the youngest daughter of the Lewis Family. She joined the family group not long after they began traveling. Janis is a featured singer on several of the Lewis Family songs, and an important part of the family harmony. Janis gets to travel with her family, and her family also travels with her - her son Lewis is a part of the family group, and her husband Earl usually travels with them also helping with offstage duties. |
